Wahlarzt - 'Doctor of Choice'
In Austria, you can choose your physician freely. If your doctor is not contracted for insurance plans, you have to settle the account first. However, you can send the paid bill to your health insurance to receive a partial refund.
The private practice allows me to arrange quick appointments and to devote sufficient time to each consultation. I value careful diagnosis and a shared therapeutic strategy.
Consultation Fee
The first consultation costs 150€, follow-ups 120€.
Home visits can be arranged (250€).
Reimbursement
My invoice will list all medical services rendered. Reimbursement is subject to law but the specific amount may still depend on your health insurance. For example, the Wiener Gebietskrankenkasse (WGKK) will reimburse 80 percent of the cost for an equivalent service rendered by a contractual partner. If you have a private insurance, the difference between the amount reimbursed by the primary insurance company and the doctor’s bill will usually be covered by the private insurance.
